All Aluminium Conductor (AAC)
APPLICATIONS
Used as bare overhead conductor for distribution lines. Because of its poor strength to weight ratio, AAC has limited use in Transmission lines. AAC is extensively used in urban areas where spans are usually short but high conductivity is required.
SPECIFICATIONS
'Anvil' AAC bare conductor can be supplied to meet various international specifications like ASTM, BS, CSA, DIN, IEC, etc.
CONSTRUCTION
EC Grade hard drawn aluminium wires concentrically stranded.

All Aluminium Alloy Conductor (AAAC)
APPLICATIONS
Used as bare overhead conductor (or power distribution lines). Designed utilizing a
high-strength aluminium alloy to achieve a high strength-to-weight ratio; affords
better sag characteristics. Aluminium alloy gives AAAC higher resistance to corrosion
than ACSR.
SPECIFICATIONS
Anvil AAAC bare conductor can be supplied to meet various International specifications
like ASTM, BS. CSA, DIN, IEC. etc.
CONSTRUCTION
Aluminium alloy 6201 wires, concentrically stranded from 7 strands to 61 strands
depending upon the size.

Aluminium Conductor Alloy Reinforced (ACAR)
APPLICATIONS
Used as bare overhead transmission conductor or primary or secondary distribution conductor. Where higher capacity and strength for equal weight are prime tine considerations. ACAR is the solution over ACSR due to its better strength to weight ratio.
SPECIFICATIONS
Anvil bare ACAR conductors are tested to meet ASTM B-524 specification.
CONSTRUCTION
ACAR is constructed by concentrically stranding hard drawn EC grade aluminium wires over an aluminium alloy (6201) core. In some constructions, the aluminium alloy (6201) strands are distributed in layers throughout the EC aluminium strands.
Typical stranding arrangements are as below
(Other stranding can be designed to meet special requirements)
Aluminium Conductor Steel Reinforced
APPLICATIONS
ACSR has the established reputation for economy and dependability in power transmission lines. Also used for primary and secondary distribution lines. Wide range of steel content from 7% to 40% can be achieved by different standings to meet desired strength.
SPECIFICATIONS
Anvil ACSR bare conductor can be supplied to meet various International specifications like ASTM, BS, CSA, DIN, IEC, etc.
CONSTRUCTIONS
EC Grade Aluminium wires concentrically stranded over a steel core. The steel core wire is zinc coated. Various grades of coaling is available. The steel core can also be 'aluminized' to produce ACSR/AZ or 'Aluminium clad1 to produce ACSR/AW. If required additional protection against corrosion can be provided by application of steel core with grease.

Some standard and special stranding are as below
(Other stranding can be designed to meet special requirements)
GREASED CONDUCTORS
In order to reduce the risk of corrosion in some environments, conductor can be produced with grease filling.
The grease filling can be of following types:
Fig. G1 : Steel core only greased.
Fig. G2 : All the conductor is greased except the outer layer
Fig. G3 : AH the conductor is greased including the outer layer
Fig. G4 : All the conductor is greased except the outer surface of the wires in the outer layer.
